He reached down.
That's the whole story of the Gospel in three words. The gap between God and humanity was too great for humanity to bridge from our side. No religion, no moral effort, no self-improvement plan was going to close it.
So He reached down.
All the way from the throne room of heaven — through the incarnation, through thirty years of ordinary life, through three years of ministry, through Gethsemane, through the trials, through the cross, through the grave — He reached down.
And He pulls up everyone who reaches back.
Not the ones who have it together. Not the ones who have earned it. The ones who are drowning and know it. The ones who have stopped pretending they can save themselves. The ones who simply extend a hand toward the One reaching for them.
Are you reaching back today?
"He reached down from on high and took hold of me; He drew me out of deep waters." — Psalm 18:16
