When temptation comes, remember this: God has promised to make a way of escape. "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful .... Hewill not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." (1 Corinthians 10:13)
And when the righteous man stumbles, he does not stay down. "Though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again." (Proverbs 24:16) Hallelujah! The grace of God is sufficient for the truly repentant sinner and for the saint who falls and turns back to Him. We have an Advocate the precious blood of Jesus Christ, the power of the Holy Spirit working within us, and our Lord Jesus Himself interceding for us before the Father.
But woe to those who treat the grace of God as though it were a cheap thing. Grace cost Heaven everything. It cost the precious blood, suffering, and very life of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Lord, forgive us for every time we have taken Your grace lightly. Forgive us for grieving Your Holy Spirit. Restore within us a willing and obedient heart. Change us from the inside out. Create in us a hunger and thirst for righteousness that cannot be satisfied by the things of this world.
Strengthen us to overcome every scheme of the devil and every pull of the flesh. As these last days unfold before us, may we walk in holiness and reverence before You. Consecrate our hearts, O God. Sanctify us by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Keep us faithful until the day we stand before You.
